Cuba Libre is a bold, bilingual musical that pulses with the irresistible energy of Afro-Caribbean rhythms and the emotional weight of a man caught between two worlds. Inspired by the real-life experiences of the Grammy-nominated Cuban band Tiempo Libre, this vibrant, contemporary story travels from present-day Miami to 1990s Cuba, following a gifted musician as he confronts the sacrifices that shaped his path to freedom and the cost of his artistic dreams. With a book by Carlos Lacámara and music by Tiempo Libre themselves, Cuba Libre is both personal and universal—an exhilarating portrait of love, ambition, and exile.
Cuba Libre is a theatrical event as timely as it is timeless—offering a powerful window into the immigrant experience, the longing for home, and the freedom to create a new one.
